Fully government-funded for eligible veterans as party of the DVA scheme. No referral needed. All fields required.
Dedicated Hearing Care for Veterans
Hearing challenges are a common health outcome of military service. Whether your hearing changed during active duty, training, or over the years that followed, the impact can show up in everyday moments — conversations with family, catching what’s said in a group, or simply hearing clearly in a noisy room.
Audika’s Hearing Health Service – Veterans & Workers is a dedicated team designed to support individuals whose hearing has been affected by occupational or service-related environments. Our Audika clinicians are experienced in supporting veterans and navigating relevant government programs, including the Hearing Services Program (HSP), Australian Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) or a combination of both.
Our focus is on understanding your background, exposures, and individual hearing needs to help identify appropriate support options.
“People telling you you’re not hearing them. That’s when it starts. You don’t wake up one day and realise it’s gone, It just starts disappearing, and you don’t even know what you’re losing.”
Why hearing aids?
Your hearing may have changed during your years of service — and that’s not uncommon. At Audika, our dedicated Veterans & Workers team provides dedicated hearing care tailored to people whose hearing has been shaped by service environments. If you hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold or White Card, you may be eligible for hearing services and devices subsidised under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program, which may be provided at no cost to you¹.

Eligibility & What’s Covered
Who is eligible?
You may qualify for subsidised hearing services if you or your spouse holds one of the following:
- DVA Gold Card
- DVA White Card (for accepted hearing-related conditions, including hearing loss and tinnitus)
Eligibility is determined by DVA and/or program criteria and is not guaranteed.
Current serving members of the Australian Defence Force may also be eligible. If you’re unsure whether your card qualifies, our Veterans & Workers team can guide you over the phone.
Please note: a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card alone does not provide eligibility for this program.
What does the government subsidy cover?
Eligible veterans may access a range of fully or partially subsidised hearing devices that meet government standards.
If you choose devices with additional features (e.g. rechargeable batteries or enhanced performance in noisy environments), an out-of-pocket contribution may apply. Your clinician will explain all options, including any costs, before you proceed.
For DVA Gold Card and White Card holders, maintenance agreement costs may also be fully or partially covered, reducing ongoing out-of-pocket expenses for repairs, servicing, and batteries.
How often can you receive new hearing aids?
Veterans may be eligible for new devices every five years, subject to program criteria and clinical need. If your hearing needs change significantly before the five-year mark, you may qualify for earlier replacement.
If a partially subsidised or specialised device is clinically recommended, prior approval from DVA may be required before fitting. You should not purchase hearing devices before receiving formal approval, as costs incurred prior to approval may not be reimbursed by DVA.
