Brisbane is the capital city for the holiday state and even boasts Australia’s only inner-city, man-made beach located in the Cultural South Bank. The Brisbane River winds through Brisbane and surrounding suburbs. There are 16 major bridges that cross the river including the Story Bridge. The CityCat ferry service collects and delivers passengers along the inner-city reaches of the river stopping at the many terminals along the bank and is a great way to take in the beauty of Brisbane.

Hervey Bay is a natural bay located between the Queensland Mainland and nearby Fraser Island, approximately 290 kilometers north of Brisbane. Often referred to as the jewel in Queensland’s crown, Hervey Bay is also known as one of the Whale Watching Capitals of the world. The majestic humpback whale has made Hervey Bay a regular stop on the annual migration to Antarctica. The humpback whale is one of the most active and acrobatic of the species and they provide an awesome sight with their antics including spectacular displays of breaching and tail flapping making Hervey Bay a popular place for tourists and naturalists.

The Sunshine Coast is a large metropolitan area of Queensland aproximatley 100 kilometers from Brisbane the states capital city. Some of the popular locations in this area are Mooloolaba, Marcoola, Noosa, Coolum, Kwana & Caloundra to name a few. Located in Moreton Bay, Bribie Island is unique in that it is the only Island in the group you can drive to with a bridge connecting it to the mainland. Bribie is a picturesque location with pristine beaches. In the distance you can see the majestic Glass House Mountains. The Pumicestone passage is the shallow waterway between the island and the mainland and this whole area is home to some amazing flora and fauna making it a great location for families.
