Hearing aids cost

The cost of hearing aids

How much is your hearing worth to you? Every week the average Australian household spends $172 on luxury goods and recreation1. That’s $25 a day on luxury goods like; Coffee, hobbies, and clothes.

Are you willing to pay $3.30 a day for your health and well being?

That’s how much an average pair of hearing aids may cost you over 5 years. That’s about $6,000 a pair. That’s $1200 a year, $23 a week, or $3.30 a day1. There is a lot to consider when it comes to hearing aids, keeping in mind that you will be wearing the devices every day, seven days a week. Therefore it is important, to spend on hearing aids that fit your needs.

Cheaper is not better

When it comes to long-term investments, you need to make well informed decisions about your purchases, especially when your health is involved. You may be tempted to purchase hearing aids over the internet, however there are a few risks to consider:

  • Purchasing hearing aids online means you risk buying a product that won’t work properly.

  • A hearing aid must be fitted by a qualified clinician, you may purchase the right hearing aid online, however there is no fitting or consultation with a clinician.

  • If you buy a hearing aid overseas, an Australian clinician might not be able to fix or adjust your hearing aid as some brands of hearing aids may have parts or technology that is not available in Australia.

This is why it is important to have a qualified clinician to conduct a hearing check and fit your hearing aids for you. Which will provide you with peace of mind, knowing that you can get the most out of your hearing aids.
